The Bodyguard ~ Anisha Sharma

Posted on January 18, 2017 at 10:11pm 1 Comment

The Bodyguard was an amazing show that I would totally recommend. It was like watching a movie in real life. It was straightforward, to the point, and the overall production was top quality. The Bodyguard was based off a real movie that came out in 1982. The movie starred Whitney Huston and Kevin Costner. The story was about a pop star who was being stalked, and her bodyguard, played by Judson Mills, who protected her and kept her safe. There were some side stories going…

Fun Home

Intense, creative, and engaging are only a couple words to describe how amazing this show Fun Home was. It was extraordinary to see how the cast took such a taboo topic and turned it into something so funny and light. Even though the overall story was sad, the way they portrayed that wasn’t how I expected. The story takes place in a normal, or what seems to be normal, home. Allison, who is played by Kate Shindle as an adult, grows up and realizes some important things about…

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a novel written by Mark Haddon, was recreated into a play that was amazing to watch. Not once did I see myself looking at what time it was; I was fully immersed into the whole storyline. The show took place within the journey and growth of a 15 year old autistic boy. Christopher, the 15 year old boy who is portrayed by Adam Langdon, starts by finding a dead dog, killed with the garden fork. Throughout the story, Christopher…

Cabaret: Anisha Sharma

Cabaret, a show without a dull moment, was a delight to watch. The show opened on Tuesday, October 18, and played in downtown Minneapolis at the Orpheum theatre. This play took place in Berlin in 1929 at the Kit Kat Club. This story was about a young writer Clifford Bradshaw, who was played by Benjamin Eakeley, coming to a new place to get inspired and write a new novel. The night he arrives, he is told to go the Kit Kat Club where he spends the night, and also… Continue

Good first review! Good job touching base on the stage layout and the orchestra. I would suggest dividing the paragraphs into 1) background 2) performance 3) tech 4) other details/overview. For the most part, though, you did a good job with this. Maybe discuss the scandalous nature a little more. Also, proofreading a little more next time would be beneficial.
