My My, How Can I Resist It?

I didn't want to like Mama Mia.

Not only is it an incredibly cheesy play, but I felt as though admitting to enjoying the show would be a major blow to my masculinity. However, even though Mama Mia presented several dislikable qualities, the overall hilarity and charm made it just too lovable. Mama Mia, as most people know, is the story of Sophie (Lizzie Markson) and Dona Sheridan (Betsy Padamonsky). Sophie, Dona's 20 year old daughter, never knew her father, so when she… Continue

Fun, Happy, Sad, and In-Between Home

Alison chronicles her sexual orientation, her relationship with her father, her father's struggles with his own sexual orientation, and his eventual suicide all in a masterfully written and scored way. What I liked most about the play was the feeling and emotion portrayed in the music. Whether it was sadness, joy, or a depressing, hilarious,… Continue

Feeling Like and For Christopher Boone

Posted on December 2, 2016 at 12:48am 1 Comment

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a gripping story about Christopher Boone (played by Adam Landon), an autistic teenager, and his struggles with his autism, family life, and of course, the curious incident of the murder of his neighbor's dog. The story is an excellent one that fills the audience with genuine emotions that they share with the main character. My mind could meld with Christopher and I could truly see the struggles he faced with everyone around him and within his… Continue
