Jon Smith talks about his work as Associate Musical Supervisor on Jersey Boys for the Broadway, Chicago, and touring companies!
I had no idea what all went into the musical aspect of any given production. It's fascinating! I liked that he talked about how Jersey Boys is different from other productions because of how it was created, and how strategically placed the musical numbers were. I didn't know the pit was placed in the box and assumed that they would all be in the pit the entire time like a "regular" production. I believe it adds more depth to a production when it has actually happened, and it truly tells a story. I could really tell that Jon is passionate about his work with Jersey Boys.
